Family Nest Of Bellevue Redmond Presents Old World Elegance, Everyday Comfort

Some homes are decorated. This one was collected: piece by piece, trip by trip, year by year.
At the front door, a carved oak hall tree straight out of old Europe welcomes you, flanked by blue-and-white vases. Throughout the house, the world comes home: a woven tapestry of Brussels' Grand Place, a portrait of a young woman in traditional dress, a watercolor of a wise elder, silk pillows embroidered with birds in bloom, a hand-painted fish platter full of Mediterranean color, and shelves glowing with cobalt glass. Framed butterflies, among them a brilliant blue morpho, speak to a love of nature's small wonders.
This was a home made for gathering. Twin mahogany cabinets with Gothic-arched glass still sparkle with crystal, ready for a toast. Around the oval dining table, chairs wait for one more holiday dinner. In the kitchen, polished stainless cookware, a trusty KitchenAid mixer, and a vintage Gerber carving set in its velvet-lined case tell of roasts carved, cakes baked, and family fed.
There's a handmade heart here, too: a Singer sewing machine in its wooden cabinet, a basket of notions, and a crewel embroidery of daisies and a bumblebee stitched by patient hands. Soft leather sofas, a tufted linen bench, a swivel recliner, the warm glow of a salt lamp and a hammered bronze sconce, and a quiet sign reading "Breathe" made it a place to slow down.
Step outside and the home opens up to the sky. On the deck, a fire pit table is surrounded by cushioned seating, the perfect spot to watch the sun go down. Cobalt planters, string lights, and a round patio table set for morning coffee complete the scene. In the garage, a bright yellow Cannondale bike waits for its next ride.
And resting on a mahogany console table is perhaps the truest piece of all: a simple wooden sign that reads "You & Me, Together Forever."
These treasures were chosen with love and lived with joy. Now they're ready to bring that same warmth to new homes and new stories.
