She was a UC Berkeley zoology graduate who came of age at Cal in the 1960s, at the height of the campus's civic activism. She stayed a devoted Cal fan for life. She loved Cal football, belonged to the Cal Women's Sports Booster Club, and played golf and tennis. Her home was a menagerie: five parrots, tortoises, dogs, cats, frogs, and fish, and the enclosures, tanks, and supplies of that full and happy household are here for the taking. Her parents ran the famous Kan's restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown from the 1950s through the 1990s. She kept everything: the vintage menus, the cookbooks her father wrote, and the Chinese collectibles her parents loved. Her kitchen holds the 1960s through the 1990s, nothing too modern. She also had a passion for fashion. The wardrobe is truly massive: over 100 leather moto jackets, racks of leather boots and shoes, and vintage t-shirts saved from the 1960s through the 1990s. The golf collection is huge, and the animal supply collection fills the house.
