The Paxton Estate is an extraordinary sale featuring a lifetime collection of fine art, sculpture, jade, silver, crystal, china, furnishings and collectibles. Highlights include original oils and watercolors, signed and numbered limited editions, serigraphs, giclées, etchings and sculpture, with documented works by José Royo, Zamy Steynovitz, Max Karp, Itzchak Tarkay, Tomasz Rut, Pino, Martiros, Gilroy Roberts, Auguste Moreau and others, along with Remington-related pieces. One of the most remarkable pieces is an approximately 37-inch-tall, 149-pound black jade Quan Yin, described in the owner's records as likely nephrite. Other standout pieces include original works by Royo, Steynovitz and Karp, limited-edition works by Tarkay, Rut and Pino, the Gilroy Roberts Great American Eagle documented as containing approximately 240 troy ounces of silver, and a large limited-edition “Mountain Man” after Frederic Remington. Beyond the art collection, the estate is filled with cut crystal, Lenox china, vintage glassware, furniture, decorative pieces, sculpture and collectibles.
