Paula Plott Amos, born in September 1946 in Wichita, Kansas, is a distinguished artist and designer. Raised in a creative family, she collaborated with her father, Leonard, a master woodworker, and was honored as Kansas Junior Miss during her high school years. Her passion for art and travel propelled her to pursue higher education at Wichita State University and the University of Oregon, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. Paula embarked on extensive travels, including a notable expedition to Tanzania where she ascended Mount Kilimanjaro. She held the position of Resident Artist for East Heights Methodist Church and Chief Designer for Crescent Industries in Taiwan, overseeing the production of her designs showcased in prominent retail establishments. One of her most esteemed projects was the “The Plott Toy Shop” exhibit at the Wichita Art Museum, a collaborative endeavor with her father. Welcome to Plott Toy Shop These pieces were formerly featured at the Wichita Art Museum. Leonard Plott February 27, 1919, in Zurich, Kansas. He was a graduate of Beloit High School. He studied engineering at Kansas Wesleyan Univ. (Kansas). He was employed by Wichita Cabinet Co. in 1950 when he opened his own shop specializing in cabinets and fine furniture. He lived in Wichita in the 1960s. From 1981 to 1989, Mr. Plott and his daughter operated the Plott Toy Shop during the holiday seasons. They were featured in the 1986 December issue of Colonial Homes, a national magazine. The items featured in the Sale are one-of-a-kind originals handcrafted by Leonard Plott, handcrafted, and hand-painted by Paula Plott Amos.
