Collection from an Extraordinary Life Washington, DC Estate Sale | July 24–26 This is more than an estate sale—it's the celebration of an extraordinary life. Step inside the home of Charlotte Noshpitz, whose remarkable journey spanned wartime heroism, groundbreaking work in psychology, and a lifelong passion for art and collecting. As a teenager in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, Charlotte served with the French Resistance as a weapons smuggler and clandestine courier, risking her life to help save countless others. For her bravery, she was awarded four French medals, including the Croix de Guerre. After the war, she became a pioneering psychologist, helping develop the fields of art therapy and dance therapy alongside Margaret Naumburg and Marian Chase. A gifted artist herself, Charlotte worked in metal, wood, ceramics, and even whimsical miniature sculptures made from chewing gum. The contents of her home reflect a lifetime of curiosity, travel, scholarship, and creativity. Every room is filled with fascinating discoveries, and there truly is something for every collector.
