For her bravery, she was awarded four French medals, including the Croix de Guerre. After the war, she became a pioneering psychologist, helping develop the fields of art therapy and dance therapy alongside Margaret Naumburg and Marian Chase. A gifted artist herself, Charlotte worked in metal, wood, ceramics, and even whimsical miniature sculptures made from chewing gum.
