I’m having an Estate Sale.
A gathering of the detritus of a life lived fully — a mixed "salad" of cookbooks, tools, treasures, remnants, memories. The bits and pieces that made the meals, the spaces, the stories. There will also be some art, commercial restaurant ware, and equipment available.

Story, story, story.
“Everywhere you look,” a chef friend once mused while standing in Sparrow Bar & Cook — my last brick & mortar — “there’s got to be a story.” In 2018, I let that brick & mortar go. I let my ego — my skeletal self — fall like the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. I remember telling my therapist, “Yikes… who knew there were 10 more floors dismantling?”

Collapse. Release. Reckoning.
And now? Another letting go. But as my mom says, it’s not a fall — it’s a going down. Let go… but don’t let go of God. 🙏🏼
