It needs a new motor. It still runs, but not sure for how long. I still drive it to work and have been to Tampa a few times like it is with no issues. I have put a brand-new front and rear suspension, new coils, new spark plugs, and a brake job on the front and back.
If you're a mechanic or have access to low-cost labor, an engine swap can be done for around $500-700. If you're not a mechanic, I also know a reputable shop that will install a replacement engine for approximately $8,000 to 9,000 with a 3-year warranty.
