This fund raiser has benefited greatly from the family donations made from Marilyn Carbonello’s estate. Marilyn worked at Joann’s for 30 years and was loved for her excellent advice, and her spirit in helping customers with their projects. Marilyn’s family wrote: “Sadly, Marilyn passed away in February at age 80 after years of declining health. Her family began sorting her “collection” in the months following her death. They are extremely thankful for the quilting guild and their work in the community. It’s a wonderful legacy for Marilyn and her family, knowing that her collection will continue to help others in ways that would make Marilyn happy and proud.”

Proceeds from this sale will allow Centreville Quilters Unlimited to continue its educational programs and support to the American Legion, Cornerstone’s Laurel Learning Center, Honor Flight, Fairfax County Dept. of Child Services, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Auxiliary and Schar Cancer Institute, Quilts of Valor, Sunrise at Fair Oaks, Navy Marine Corp New Mom Program and others.
Quilters Unlimited (QU) is a 501(c)(3) which is dedicated to preserving the tradition, culture and history of quilting, and promoting the knowledge and understanding of the art of quilting through continuing educational services for members and public education activities. The 11 QU chapters have robust community service efforts and donate regularly to approximately 50 unique organizations including shelters, seniors, veterans and military families, victims of abuse, children, hospitals, churches, and animal shelters.
