She was a trailblazer, serving as the first female president of an international labor union and the first female vice president of the AFL-CIO. Her passion for beautiful antiques, art, and jewelry was evident in her extensive collection, and she took immense pride in her home and its grounds. Notably, she was a delegate at the Democratic National Convention and served on President Clinton’s Commission on Employment for People with Disabilities.
