Posey, known for his beautifully vibrant artwork, has had his work displayed in exhibits from New York City to Atlanta, Chicago to Denver, and from Washington, D.C., to New Orleans. Individuals, including former President Bill Clinton and Louise Mandrell, own private collections of his pieces Anna Jaap (1966-Present) Anna Jaap received her BFA Magna Cum Laude from Lipscomb University in 1987 with an emphasis in classical painting and French. For twenty-five years, she has maintained a continuously working studio—establishing herself first as a printmaker before shifting her focus to painting and drawing. Jean Pierre DuBord (1949-Present) Jean Pierre DuBord French Artist: B. 1949. Jean Pierre DuBord is known for his ability to capture the subtleties of light and color unique to each seasons. In 1970, he had his first exhibition of approximately thirty paintings in Rouen , a show which was highly praised by art critics. In addition to an annual show in Rouen, he has also exhibited in Bourdeaux, Le Havre, La Rochelle, Osaka, Quebec and in the major, famous salons of Paris. Dubord has his own original approach to painting. His palette is rich in its tones, and is fresh and uplifting. His work is so highly regarded that he is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards. Dubord's canvases reveal his own intense joy of life and his love of the rhythms of nature is distinguished by a nuanced use of color. The artist's mastery of his secrets of imprisoning light on canvas and the very delicate poetic strain in his painting may be traced to the impressionist masters, but it bears a very personal touch as well. One critic remarked that Dubord is guided solely by his heart and emotions. Sterling Strauser (1907-1995) Sterling Strauser was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and became a painter in expressionist/impressionist styles who used a heavy impasto technique. He began painting in 1926 in a near impressionist style that later evolved into an assertive Klee-like modernism. Omar Malva (1951-2015) Malva was born in 1951 in Tel Nail, a small village of mud cottages in the most northern part of Syria. Malva's childhood was not one of joy and freedom that many of us remember. Instead, it was packed with the hardships and pressures of helping to support his family. "I was born to be a painter," Malva says. " My background worked against me, but it only made me stronger. The life of an artist is difficult, but there is no reason to give up." Malva is one of the foremost contemporary impressionists in the world. His bold use of color and brush create panoramas of movement and expression that are both inviting and dramatic. Even the flowers in his still-lifes seem to have a life of their own. Karel Verschooten (1910-1993) Karel Verschooten was a Belgian artist born in Antwerp in 1910 and died there in 1993. He was a painter and watercolorist. He debuted as an autodidact, but joined the Sint-Lucaskring in Merksem in the 1930s, where he received further training from Rik Luyten, Oscar Verpoorten, and Jozef Mous. He created powerfully depicted Scheldt landscapes, often characterized compositionally by their overwhelming, tormented skies, but also painted heathland scenes, harvest scenes, flower arrangements, and still lifes. His color palette is dominated by beige, gray, and especially ochre. He was a member of the Kunstkring Sirkel. A retrospective of his work was held at the town hall in Mortsel in 1990 to commemorate his 80th birthday. He is mentioned in "Two Centuries of Signatures by Belgian Artists."
