Big Moon Little Stars is honored to present PART 2 ofthe curated contents of a stately Victorian home in the heart of Takoma Park, DC. We've added items from the cellar, garden shed and storage outbuilding, as well as items of interest from the yard and patio. Of note are hand and power tools, gardening supplies, patio and garden furniture, a few more roosters (because they're awesome), vintage and antique handmade quilts,and some interesting primitive collectibles. **Nearly all of the newly added items are towards the end of the listing, so be sure to scroll through to see everything.** While this beautiful home is filled with fun treasures, it unfortunately lacks ample parking - hence the on-line sale format. The sale will run for five days, followed by two days of pick up (August 29th and September 1st, from 11-3pm). A little about the previous homeowner:A young man in the 1960s, the former homeowner was very conscious of the injustices being carried out in the South with regards to racial inequality and voter suppression. Consequently, he became a member ofCORE (Congress Of Racial Equality) and worked on-the-ground to register black voters - often at the risk of his own safety. He diligentlyrecord their experiences through interviews and photographswith the intent of informing the rest of the country, especially.While the bulk of the ephemera of his experience as a member of CORE is being archived, you'll see a ripple of this experience in his remaining photographs and chosen art, as well as in many of the books in his collection. In this sale you'll see evidence of a life-long love of roosters (Takoma Park's mascot). Every shape, style, type and medium are represented, so find your favorite and bid with reckless abandon! You'll also find lovely hand-woven Persian area rugs, china cabinets, a fabulous expandable claw-foot dining room table with SEVEN (!) leaves,a large selection of hand-thrown pottery, an antique woodworker's apprentice toolbox (with tools), hand tools and so much more.
