DON'T FORGET TO SIGN OUR MAILING LIST!

We present to you a unique thrifting experience like no other: 10 thousand square feet of antiques and vintage hoarded by a family spanning 3 decades, now open to the public!

The latest items we uncovered from the basement include vintage stereo eqiupment, antique picture frames, records, lighting parts & globes, dishes/glass/china, an elaborate victorian dresser, a primitive chest with old red paint and iron eastlake bin pulls full to the brim with old tools.

There is so much stuff here you can't see it all in one trip. We get people who are so overwhelmed by the vast accumulation of collections here many people go home and think about what they've seen before coming back to complete a purchase. Be prepared to spend time here- you can't just come in and walk through. Serious shoppers will need 1-2 hours.

We are still digging things out at this property, as much of this stuff has been packed away in boxes and bags, warehouse style, going back to the late 70s/early 80s. There was not a single corner of this property that did not have some kind of hoarder's storage in it. A 3-bedroom house, 2x barns, and 6x out-buildings (sheds/garage type) jam-packed with stuff. We are so overloaded we don't even have enough space to set everything out.

I have uploaded a few thousand photos to Flickr as new items were discovered or uncovered to help give people an idea of just how vast this collection is, but in the confusion I may have accidentally duplicated some old pics. If anyone finds duplicate pictures on Flickr, please notify me by commenting on the picture on flickr so I know it's in there twice, and I will delete the extra. Thanks for your help! THE PURGE CONTINUES! PLEASE STOP BY!!

Photographic overview of contents can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/109439916@N07/

There are literally thousands of items here, and all of it vintage, collected by the family for over 3 decades.

Lehigh/Delaware Valley Estate Sale Gets National Attention

This unique estate sale features items from the 30-year collection of a NJ couple prominent in the arts and publishing, as well as items from the estates of the preceding generation and other family members whose items accumulated in the family storage of a renovated 18th century barn on the property.

THIS SALE IS INDOORS RAIN OR SHINE, EVERY WEEKEND UNTIL ENOUGH GETS SOLD TO LIST THE PROPERTY ITSELF WITH REAL ESTATE AGENTS. WE ARE PROHIBITED BY ZONING FROM HAVING AN AUCTION HERE. THE SALE IS STRICTLY THRIFT-STORE STYLE.

Family History:

Major collectors and antique shoppers for 3 decades, collecting runs in the family.

The primary owners were a highly regarded magazine editor and author and a classical musician who also served the county on various arts and historical preservation organizations.

Other members of the family whose items were added to the estate include 2x other artists/writers with equally ecclectic tastes and carreers in the visual arts, performing arts and radio extending from the 1930s to the modern era. One of the younger children is highly regarded in the field of decorative arts working for interior decorators. Make no doubt, this family is the right mix of artistic and eclectic pursuits to amass an astonishing array of quality collectibles, vintage and antique items.

Estate History:

The family road-tripped their way to the area antique-shopping to fill the home as they traveled from a previous residence in Oklahoma where the father had been employed with a publishing house as managing editor.

The NJ property is a historic stone farmhouse from the 18th century colonial era, together with surrounding barns and outbuildings restored in the early 1980s. The owners took the property back to about 1910 in order to utilize some modern 20th century amenaties. As a result of this ambitious restoration project, antique furniture, decorative wares and architectural salvage items not put to use began to accumulate.

Once established in NJ, they continued their collecting endeavors by rennovating and restoring the massive stone and wood-frame 1750s 3-story barn which became the warehouse repository of antiques collecting and architectural salvage overflow from the restoration of the stone farmhouse. Collectibles and antiques became the family pasttime in the 1980s and continued up to recent times, when the father passed away and the mother retired. The result is a 3-story, 3-bedroom 2-bath house with finished attic and the accompanying 3-story high 6-thousand-square foot barn which is more gallery than farm. There is not a wall which remains bare in the house nor a spot on the rafters in the barn from which an interesting item of days gone by does not hang! It must be seen to be believed.

Although it has been listed on the market already, real estate agents have subsequently turned this property down for sale because it is so mired in a wealth of collectibles and antiques, seeing the house interior through the collection is difficult.

The goal:

1. to reduce and liquidate at least 2/3 of this massive generational collection, so that the estate owner's widow can complete her retirement to more modest surroundings.

2. to utilize the funds raised from the sale of the collection to make much needed improvements and renovations in order to maintain the property in historical context and ready it for subsequent relisting with the real estate agent.

Highlights & overview of contents: (list subject to change without notice)

the family has worked tirelessly to set up a photographic overview on Flickr with over 2,000 (TWO THOUSAND) pictures of the estate:

A sale like this is not to be missed and comes along once in a lifetime.

Items from the estate have had notable publication in major collectibles guidebooks, regional newspapers, and even a short television spot. Such notable auction houses as Sotheby's, Christies, Rago, Bonhams, and others have issued acceptances for some of the higher end items from the estate.

But don't let budget hold you back! there is an equally fascinating array of inexpensive, fun flea market type items and even some general housewares, such as pots, pans, kitchen utensils, towels, bedding, used toys, small appliances. Minimum price per item is $1.00. Please do not come here intending to spend pocket change. The property is to vast to be bothered with coin sales.

There is something for almost everyone. This estate is not to be surpassed in this area for shear bulk and abundance, or for the wide range of contents.

This is coming from the private stash of a very artistic family collection with eclectic taste leaning toward historical, decorative, educational, anthropological, and many of these items were collected 2 to 3 decades ago, before most of the mainstream caught on to them.
Much of it is hitting the secondary market for the first time in decades. Don't miss it! once it's gone, it's gone!
