''Little Barr'' was born on May 10, 2013, 3 months too early. He only weighed 1-lb & 1-oz and has been in the NICU at the Woman's Hospital in Houston since birth. This little guy has overcome many hurdles and set backs.
He most recently had surgery to remove his ventilator tube to replace with a trach so that he can go home one day soon. Once he gets used to the trach and new machines, he will be released to go home. At this time they are projecting he will be able to come home in late April 2014, not long before his 1st birthday!
Of course he will still need lots of special care, but the Doctors feel he will do better at home because there is no substitute for mommy and daddy. He will still have the trach for breathing assistance until his lungs get better. He will go home in an ambulance and will need special equipment at home. Wesley (dad) and Tabitha (mom) are currently getting training on how to care for him when he does come home.
